Capital Campaign

Cornerstone is currently involved in a couple of capital building projects. Last year we purchased a significant portion of land in Stratford, bordering the Trans-Canada Highway across from the Stratford Town Hall. In addition, we have recently expanded our existing building in Cornwall by adding a 300-seat sanctuary, a Christian Education wing, a large foyer and an updated administration area.

How Can You Help?

If you call Cornerstone home, we encourage you to participate with us in this campaign. We encourage you to pledge your support to this project through this campaign. Your pledge is a written expression of your level of commitment to this capital campaign. The written pledge is an act of worship; it is an amount that God has placed on your heart to give.

Why Give a Pledge?

Cornerstone relies on the support and pledge from each person in its congregation to undertake projects such as these. The bible teaches us that everything we have is God's and Jesus teaches us to be generous with our resources (Matthew 6:21, Acts 20:35). In the book of Genesis, God blessed Abraham and told him that because God blessed him, Abraham will therefore be a blessing to others. God uses us in the same way today. We are not to simply be blessed, but to be a blessing!

Where Can You Start?

Start by praying. (1 Thessalonians 5:17, Romans 12:!2)
If you are single, pray.
If you are married, pray alone, then pray as a couple.
If you are a child, pray.
If you are old, pray.
If you are poor, pray.
If you are rich, pray.

After you have spent time in prayer, write down an amount of money that brings joy to your heart. It may not make you comfortable, but it will bring you joy. If you are married, each of you should write down an amount without talking to each other. Then show each other the amount you each wrote down. If the amounts are different, start again by praying.

After you have prayed (and agreed upon an amount, if you are married), download and complete the pledge card and drop it in the offering plate this coming Sunday.
